Family: Lamiaceae (Labiatea)

Extraction: Steam distilled from fresh or partially dried leaves and flowering tops.

Colour: Reddish Brown

Consistency: Medium and Slightly Oily

Aromatic Description: Fresh, medicinal, herbaceous.

Aromatherapy class: stimulating, mood enhancing

Benefits: Antiseptic, antispasmodic, stimulant (immune system, circulation)

Properties: A powerful room deodorizer, thyme is a wonderful aromatherapy oil. Use in a diffuser for best results - blend with lavender for a great mix.

Blends well with: bergamot, lavender, lemon, rosemary

Skin type: blemished

Traditional use: deodorant, antiseptic

Common Uses: Arthritis, acne, eczema, rheumatism, asthma, headache, insomnia, colds, cuts, dermatitis, flu, insect bites, lice, muscle aches, oily skin, poor circulation, scabies.

Safety Information: Avoid in cases of hypertension or high blood pressure and use with caution during pregnancy. Moderate dermal irritant and strong mucous membrane irritant.
