Fir Balsam EO

Extraction: Steam distilled from the needles of the Balsam Fir tree.

Colour: Clear with a tinge of yellow

Aromatic Description: Fresh, woody, earthy and sweet

The brilliant green forest aroma brings immediate memories of Christmas for many, as the Fir tree is the most commonly found variety of this holiday conifer. The aroma of this very fluid, clear oil is bright and uplifting, yet also grounding, as evergreen needle oils tend to be.

A grounding, anchoring and empowering aromatic. Fir is highly prized for its crisp, clean Christmas tree aroma that is uplifting, warming and calming.

Common Uses: This popular oil is used to bring out masculine, outdoorsy attributes in men's fragrances, bath preparations, air fresheners, herbal, moss, soaps and shaving creams.

The essential oil of fir can relieve fatigue, due to colds and flu. It also has a tonic effect on the nervous system and the fresh scent can uplift your spirit.

It may be used in a diffuser or candle lamp to bring that 'forest green' scent to any space. It's overall action is considered stimulating, and can be used to bring alertness to the mind.

Blends well with: other evergreen oils such as Pine, Spruce and Cedarwood. Can create a wonderful, complex 'deep forest' aroma. Fir essential oil also blends well with Blue Chamomile, Frankincense, Lavender, Lemon, Sandalwood and Myrtle essential oils.

Traditional uses: Used as an analgesic or used as an antiseptic. Can be diluted in a carrier oil for massage in cases of arthritis, muscular aches, pains and rheumatism.

Cautions:  Avoid in allergic and inflammatory skin conditions. Avoid during pregnancy. Please use this oil in moderation. Do not take any oils internally. Do not apply undiluted oils, absolutes or other concentrated essences onto the skin.
